Publication: The vimentin rod domain blocks P-selectin-P-selectin glycoprotein ligand 1 interactions to attenuate leukocyte adhesion to inflamed endothelium

Leukocyte (WBC) capture on both platelets and vascular endothelium plays a key role in the initiation of acute inflammation. In this publication, a BioFlux shear flow system was used to image the adhesion of leukocytes in whole blood and isolated neutrophils to HUVECs under shear stress conditions. These investigators were able to leverage a BioFlux to determine that neutrophil adhesion is reduced due to rhRod co-localization with P-selectin during endotoxemia.
