Publication: Chrysophanol-Functionalized Silver Nanoparticles for Anti-Adhesive and Anti-Biofouling Coatings to Prevent Urinary Catheter-Associated Infections

In this investigation by Prateeksha et al., a BioFlux Shear Flow System with custom substrate bottom plates was used to assess the effectiveness of silver particles to prevent urinary catheter-associated infections. The group found that under dynamic flow conditions, endolichenic fungus-derived anti-quorum sensing sensing chrysophanol coated latex and silicone surfaces showed greater than 9-fold anti-adhesion and anti-biofouling effects compared to citrate-capped AgNPs alone.
