Publication: The Impact of TRAIL on the Immunological Milieu during the Early Stage of Abdominal Sepsis

Despite intensive research leading to advanced diagnostics, sepsis accounts for one out of five deaths worldwide. In this investigation, researchers used a CASY cell counter and analyzer to count mouse splenocytes, which were used to assess the sensitivity of neutrophils to TRAIL-induced apoptosis. The group leveraged a CASY to determine that neutrophils are sensitive to TRAIL-stimulated apoptosis in the early stage of abdominal sepsis.
